A hysterosalpingogram, or HSG is an important test of evalution of women with fertility problems.
HSG is a procedure that uses an X-ray to look at your fallopian tubes and uterus.
In HSG, a thin tube is threaded through the vagina and cervix. A substance known as contrast material is injected into the uterus.
HSG is an outpatient procedure and you can go home the same day.

X-RAY
A general radiography (X-ray) can be done on the chest, abdomen, pelvis, skull and extremity. It involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of radiation to produce an image of the bones and more. When x-rays penetrate the body, they are absorbed in varying amounts by different parts of the anatomy. Ribs and bones, for example, will absorb much of the radiation and, therefore, appear white or light gray on the image. Lung tissue and other internal organs absorb lesser radiation and appear darker on the image. In this manner a “picture” of the body part is formed.
MAMMOGRAM
Mammogram is a specific type of breast exam used to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases in women. This quick medical exam uses a noninvasive X-ray targeted to each breast, producing pictures that your doctor can use to identify and treat any abnormal areas, possibly indicating the presence of cancer.
A screening mammogram is recommended on woman age 40 years and above, anually.
ULTRASOUND & DOPPLER
Ultrasound (USG) imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, is a method of “seeing” inside the human body through the use of high-frequency sound waves. The sound waves are recorded and displayed as a real-time visual image. No ionizing radiation is involved in ultrasound scanning.
